Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actor, is well-known for her work in film and television since the late 1980s. The actress has won numerous accolades including the Golden Globe Award, and sixteen NAACP Image Award. She is known for her roles in TV and film in the 1980s, she's won numerous awards like two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett grew up in Winston-Salem North Carolina, raised by her aunt in New York New York. Bassett as well as her younger sister aged five, old, made the move out of New York and into St. Petersburg to live with the mother of their divorced father. Bassett was inspired to become an actor after watching the play Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones. When she graduated at Yale University New Haven Connecticut in 1980, with a Bachelor's Degree in African American Studies, she was able to obtain an MA (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. At Yale she came across Courtney B. Vance a fellow actor and the two got married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. at Yale's School of Drama. granted an M.A. in Fine Arts in African American Studies to Angela Bassett in 1980. She attended the school following: Jordan Park elementary school, Disston Middle School for seventh graders, Azalea Middle School for the 8th and 9th grade in addition to Boca Ciega High School.
